Infrastructure Pathways Project

The Infrastructure Pathways Project is a national initiative led by TradesFutures and Equal Rights Advocates (ERA) to broaden access and strengthen inclusive pathways into construction careers. Together, we’re partnering with local building trades councils, city and state leaders, and community organizations to turn workforce development policies connected to major construction projects into real opportunities for workers and communities. Through hands-on technical assistance and on-the-ground implementation support, the project helps regions strengthen their local pipelines, meet workforce, industry and procurement goals, and connect more communities to high-quality union careers. The project also builds a nationwide learning network, bringing together labor leaders, policymakers, and community advocates to share best practices, tackle common challenges, and highlight innovative approaches that can be replicated across the country.

Participation in the Infrastructure Pathways Project is designed to align with local priorities and capacity while offering practical, results-driven support. Participants join regular virtual meetings and annual in-person convenings, gain customized guidance to strengthen local policies and programs, and help shape the future of workforce development. Participants also benefit from dedicated resources and technical assistance, a cohort of practitioners and leaders, and a national platform to showcase local success stories. Ultimately, the project equips jurisdictions with the tools, partnerships, and insights needed to build sustainable, inclusive career pathways; ensuring infrastructure investments create good union jobs and lasting community impact.
