Apprenticeship Readiness Programs are local educational programs that provide students with the fundamental skills and knowledge necessary to choose, obtain, and succeed in a formal apprenticeship in the construction industry. Apprenticeship Readiness Programs are facilitated by local Building and Construction Trades Councils that are affiliated with North America’s Building Trades Unions. The local Building and Construction Trades Councils make decisions on where, when and how an Apprenticeship Readiness Program will be set up. To learn more about establishing an Apprenticeship Readiness Program and the current construction workforce training programs available in a local area, contact a local or state Building and Construction Trades Council. A directory of those Councils can be found here: NABTU’s Building and Construction Trades Councils’ local directory.
